The Houston Symphonic Band provides adult musicians in the Houston area the opportunity to play and perform some of the finest music literature available. We also seek to serve the community by bringing family oriented performing arts into the community, providing a high quality musical experience that is both accessible and of minimal cost.

We pride ourselves in our support of music education and the music educators who will foster the next generation of musicians and music lovers. Our directors, along with many of our other fine musicians, often provide clinics, workshops and other hands-on assistance to area schools. We also are building a collection of reference recordings available on CD containing important band and wind ensemble literature - including contest pieces and works suitable for skill development.

The Houston Symphonic Band is a strong advocate of community music programs and believes that music should not end after high school or college, but rather, a life long pursuit. We therefore encourage everyone to support the performing arts organizations in their communities to assure that they continue to grow and thrive.

The Houston Symphonic Band is a not-for-profit organization as qualified by section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Tax Code. Monetary and in-kind donations are welcome and are tax-deductible. For more information on sponsorship, call 713.898.0682 or e-mail the band at:

Clarinet Choir

The Houston Symphonic Band now has a Clarinet Choir. Anyone who plays clarinet who thinks they might enjoy playing with a large number of other clarinetists are encouraged to contact us and let us know of your interest. We especially encourage people who play low clarinets to join (Alto, Bass, Contra-alto, Contra-bass). We have some music and are ordering more. If you have any music of your own for larger clarinet ensembles, and would be willing to share, please let us know so we don't order duplicate music.

We rehearse at 6:00PM before our regular Thursday HSB rehearsals. If you are interested, please contact Nancy Angerstein at: nangerstein(at)Comcast(period)net
